《鬼天廈》故事靈感來自台灣知名的猛鬼大廈之一的兇宅，這棟位在台北市中心的大廈，曾在 30 多年內發生超過 20 多件命案，讓此棟的房價比周圍的其他建案都便宜許多。其中，最著名的事件便是在 80 年代的一場火災，造成 300 多人受困，最後奪走 19 條人命。已成為都市傳說的「燒肉粽事件」，一名女子因感情問題跳樓自殺，卻意外壓死樓下賣燒肉粽的小販的悲劇，也是發生在此大樓，讓大樓的恐怖名聲不徑而走，成為台灣最猛的兇宅之一。 

The Haunted Apartment draws its inspiration from one of Taiwan's most infamous haunted residential buildings, a notorious property located in the heart of Taipei. Over the past three decades, more than twenty deaths and criminal incidents have been reported there, causing property values to remain significantly lower than those of neighboring developments.

Among the most widely known tragedies associated with the building was a devastating fire in the 1980s, during which more than 300 people were trapped and 19 lives were lost. Another incident that became part of Taiwan's urban folklore is the so-called "Rice Dumpling Vendor Tragedy"—a woman, distraught over a failed relationship, jumped from the building and tragically landed on a street vendor below, resulting in both of their deaths. The shocking event cemented the building's reputation as one of Taiwan's most notorious haunted locations.

Even after 2000, the building continued to be linked to a series of unsettling events, including a high-profile double homicide involving a young couple and several reported suicide cases. Stories have also circulated online from delivery workers and residents who claimed to have experienced strange and frightening encounters inside the building's elevators and corridors. Reports of paranormal activity and unexplained incidents persist to this day.
